Otterman's Empire

Otterman’s Empire is our first attempt at an anti-hero.

Paul Otterman likes to think of himself as a crusading lawyer. A successful small town solicitor leading the fight against the government’s hare-brained machinations. Publicly, he’s cashing in on the property boom. Privately, he advises wealthy widows on how to avoid the worst of the draconian, new inheritance laws.

The result is a constant stream of recently bereaved, former trophy wives seeking his services. He helps these women keep the lives they are accustomed to, in return for a generous fee. Small acts of subversion that Paul rationalises as sticking two fingers up at the establishment. Maybe they are, but his motivations are complicated, and far from entirely altruistic. He adores his loving twenty-something wife. He also fantasises about older women, and has few moral qualms about taking his fee in flesh, as well as than pounds sterling.

Otterman’s Empire is set in an alternate 1980s England. An England of political buffoonery, moral panics, and unearned power. A once great nation that’s lost it’s way, and most of its friends and trading partners. The fruits of an imperialist coup followed by eight years of reactionary rule. 

We intend Otterman’s Empire be half story, half sex, though it’s very much a learning exercise for us. The sex will be deliciously retro - think stockings and suspenders, bushy pubic hair, and natural boobs. On the story side, we have ambitions for a larger story arc, but first we need to learn what works, and what doesn’t.
